Leeds City performance by The Honeybirds

I was asked by vintage loving close-harmony singing group The Honeybirds to photograph them in Leeds City Centre as they performed to the public along with dancing from the Leeds University Swing Society. Along with photographing the musicians, I captured the dancers in full swing performing to passers by.

A vintage look to the photographs

I took along the Mamiya C330F medium format camera in addition to my modern Canon 5D MkIII. The medium format would give a natural, nostalgic look to the photographs which was suitable for photographing The Honeybirds ladies in their vintage attire.

Editing for web use

After a busy morning photographing the performers, I edited and processed the images before preparing the images for use on their website and Facebook. This included hand processing the film from the Medium format camera, and digitising the images with a film scanner.

  Digital images edited for web use with Adobe Lightroom. Film images scanned and edited for web use in Adobe Photoshop.
